Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

Two Service Experts centers are making a statement this October with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both painting two of their company vans pink for the fight against breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be giving 20% of all sales from their pink vans to Summit-based Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help cure breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be contributing 5% of all sales from their pink vans plus $10 for every Precision tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second October Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to raise money for Susan G. Komen. In 2015, Fras-Air was able to raise over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, General Manager of Fras-Air, and one of his workers both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute said that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider explained. “While the number of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still represents a huge number of families who are dealing with this disease, and therefore we have a serious need for research and support.”

Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, echoed Schneider’s feelings. “As stated by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in the state – for men and women.”
