What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Neal Harris Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing is here with a few of the most common cooling problems in Kansas City.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system working but there isn’t cool air being produced, you could need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your system is actually cool. Call Neal Harris Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it merely burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second problem to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is restricted. If you can verify these things, you may be able to find the issue; if not, give Neal Harris Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system cooling again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause huge cooling troubles. Another problem that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Neal Harris Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing will come out and conduct an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be good to go. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a piece so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Neal Harris Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing is here for you all day, every day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
