"Tech did arrive in the time frame provided and did quickly identify the issue. The fee quoted for a replacement circuit board was $1200 because it was rare and the unit was 14 years old. I found the item online from multiple sources. Didn't appear to be rare at all. Price was $450.00 and received in 1 day. I installed and unit working great. Although not heavy pressured to do so, I felt there was more interest in selling me a whole new system because of the "age" of my unit."

"I have called twice this week for service to return my furnace to working worker. This was to follow up on a service appointment from Friday 15 January where the furnace was fixed and then immediately stopped working. The appointment I made at the beginning of the week was apparently entered for a date in November and no one followed up with me. I made an appointment for Friday 22 January and the technician was supposed to arrive between 4-6. They never arrived and also never called letting me know they wouldnt arrive. I called the 24 hour service line and they said they would send someone but did not call until 11:30 pm. I have now made an appointment for Sunday 24 January with no appointment time. My tenants have been without heat for a week in 40° temperatures. This level of service is unacceptable."

"My appointment was originally scheduled for 12/28, between 10 and noon. By noon no one had called or shown up. I called the office and was informed they were too busy to come today. So, we rescheduled for 12/29, between noon and 2:00. At 2:05 on 12/29, I called the office to find out why I hadn't heard from anyone during my appointment time. The girl, who was very hard to understand, kept saying rehearsed lines that provided no information. We finally agreed that I would wait another hour to see if someone might show up. She promised to call me back in 1 hour. After 1.5 hours, I called the office again -- since she didn't call me as promised. I received excellent help this time -- and after checking on the situation, she indicated the tech was on his way. He arrived about 5 minutes after we hung up -- but had not called me to let me know he was on his way. My plumber was courteous and knew right away how to fix my leak. He worked fast and was very nice. He took care of my problem -- and for that, I thank him."

"I wasn't sure which visit you were referring to. Mon 12/21: New furnace, a/c, water heater installed. Crew (Greg, Dave, Mike) was friendly, efficient and seemed to like their job and working together. Tue, 12/22: Called to schedule a plumber to fix a leak in the connector on line from water heater to humidifier. Mike Fox could not have been nicer and took his time to make sure the drip was stopped. Wed, 12/23: Was looking at my new furnace and saw a slow red flashing light and didn't know if that was good or bad. I called the call center with the question and the operator said 1 of 2 people would call me. Operator did not listen closely so when I said I lived at 72nd Terrace she pulled up the customer on 72nd Street (2nd time same operator has done that when I called), she kept referring to my water heater and I kept repeating it was my furnace, at the end of the conversation she called me ma'am even though she knew who she was talking to. No one called so I called the salesman who sold me the furnace (Zach W.). I caught him on his day off so he said if I didn't hear back in an hour to call the call center again. I didn't hear back so I called and a different operator said she would have a field supervisor call. They never did. I searched the internet and read through the furnace installation instruction booklet and it looked like a slow red flashing light was ok. I didn't bother the call center again. Sun, 12/28: I thought I'd better check on whether the damper from the humidifier to the ductwork was set for "summer" or "winter". It was set for summer so I reset for winter. I combined the above experiences for my ratings on all 10 questions. (You might have the installer review the damper setting and the meaning of the red flashing light with a new furnace owner.)"

"When I called and made an appointment I was asked what needed to be done and that the tech would call before he came. He did come but never called. He asked what needed to be done and I showed him. He replied"You know we can't get all that done. We are busy and are really booked." Why did I make an appointment?? The tech was here about 20 minutes and then left and rescheduled for Monday. I paid $90 by check because the system was down and he left without leaving any paper work. When my receipt was emailed to me later, it was for $10.90. We have been with Neal Harris for over 40 years, HVAC, and I have never encountered a service call like this one. Once they had to cancel an appointment ahead of time and they gave us a free year of maintenance. I wish to continue using the HVAC but doubt I will ever call for plumbing. "On October 29, 2020 Neal Harris (NH) came to our home for its winter tune up on our boiler. The first floor zone was not working properly and at some times our 2nd floor zone was not working as well. The technician determined that the computer board installed with our new boiler by NH needed to be replaced. I was told they would need to find the part and would be back to me within a week. The week came and past no call back. I called on Thursday am and was told I would have a call back from NH by days end. Well no call. I called Sat to leave word that I received no call back and was told by days end Monday Ill have a call back. Well Monday came and went no call back. I called multiple times over the next few days only to get a hold of a service manager. When I asked him WHAT is going on he first tried to game me then admitted NH screwed up as to How or why I was not offered an explanation. The technician came this time it was Houston, he looked at the computer board and told me it was fine. Something installed when the boiler was being installed was affecting the operation of the zone. He uninstalled it. He also told me that I needed a new thermostat which I replaced. NH incorrectly wanted me to replace a $950 item that was perfectly fine. In addition I pay a monthly fee to NH to have 24 hour service clearly this was not what I paid for."

"Technician did some cleaning and recorded some data about the equipment, but did little else. It seemed we payed for him to look for more expensive things to charge us for. He complained about heat pumps, suggesting that we were duped into buying one, not knowing that I specified heat pumps on engineering projects for many years. He said that the furnace blower motor and heat pump fan motor were bad, but they sounded pretty good to me. His prices were ridiculous. For a fan motor worth about $150 to $200, he had replacement cost around $900+. It was even worse for the blower motor. He said some contacts were bad, and wanted $200+ for replacement, but I didn't see what the problem was. I thought he would at least change the humidifier pad, but that would have been another extra charge. I bought and changed that 15 minutes after he left for under $15."
