On-call service tech couldn't come that evening because he lives 40 miles outside of town and his company truck had failed (no windshield wipers, rainy). Waited overnight, called in, and Tech Aziz came within 20 minutes. He diagnosed that parts ordered 12/22 were needed to repair. Called in, and the critical part was available. He went to the shop, got the part, came back, and fixed the furnace. Non-critical parts that had been ordered, and that held up delivery of the critical part, were not needed. Aziz is amazing. Neal Harris overall, not so much."

The tech came over and pulled some hair out of the hair trap in my bathroom sink, which took all of 5-10 mins. Then he ran some hot water at my kitchen sink and gave some advice on how to fix the gurgling and sewage smell. Then he went to his van and came back and said that the charge would be $180. When I obviously acted shocked at that cost, he then said he would charge me $85... even though it really should be $180. That's with the "15% discount". I think $180 is insane to literally just pull some hair out in 5-10 and run some water. The last time I had a plumber with AB May come over and clear my bathroom sink drain, they actually pulled my pipes apart, cleaned everything, AND snaked it for $79. The plumber seemed nice enough, however I will definitely be canceling my Advantage membership ASAP. There does not seem to be any benefit to it. Also, when I had initially made the appt, I had asked how much it should cost for the drain cleaning and the main line to be snaked, and they couldn't give me an estimate. Will find another company that is transparent with the cost of the services and doesn't try to charge you $180 for an easy service. I only gave a 6 out of 10 because the problem was resolved, the plumber was nice, and the $85 is somewhat reasonable for what was done."

The following day, when the technicians arrived and started the installation process, I asked if the unit being installed was the 90K BTU furnace that I was informed by the sales representative would be installed. Instead, the technician told me the unit being installed is only a 70K BTU furnace. As such I was very surprised as I thought I was paying for a 90K BTU furnace however a 70K BTU furnace was installed. I called the sales representative and he said that he was going to inform me that he changed the furnace to a 70K BTU one since it would suffice for my house. If I had not inquired I would not have know I was getting a smaller unit than I was told I was paying for. Since the furnace being installed was switched from a 90K BTU unit to a 70K BTU unit, I requested that the price be discounted to account for the smaller unit. The sales representative told me that the price is the same and it does not matter how many BTUs the furnace is which just does not make sense to me. So a 50K BTU furnace costs the same as a 100K BTU furnace? If I had not checked with the technicians I would not have know any better that the unit being installed was different from the one I paid for. To me its like paying for a large bag of Doritos and being given a small bag just because the small bag will fill you up just the same. Why not pay for a small bag? This switch did not feel right to me. Making it without informing me and me having to find out by asking questions is not the right way. Obviously this isn't a product I can just throw back on the shelf. It was during the freezing temps in December so I needed heat ASAP but I believe that I should have a discounted price for the smaller unit since it is not what I negotiated for. I am still waiting for the inspector to show up so I can ask if a 70K BTU furnace costs the same as a 90K BTU furnace."

Our previous homeowner used them and we finally came back last year. Service has been great and better than Bob H., AB May, LBA. About 3 weeks ago, shower handle b4oke getting in--just twisted off. Called Neal Harris and there super quick. Super nice tech but it we were told just a cartridge would fix it. It opk 3-4 hours, other plumbers, which is fine as I felt they wanted to get it right. Once done, when I went up to the bathroom hours later, it had a whole new handle and plate. Since then, the handle has fallen off twice since then, and Neal Harris has fixed it. The new handle doesn't really seem to stay in the same setting and I've brought up my frustration with the new handle, even leaving a message with a Saturday answering service, and no one has addressed this. It may not seem like a big deal but this new handle is literally half the size of the one we had. Same brand, of course, but just seems cheaper and again doesn't quite stay in same place once you have the temperature adjusted."

He was nice, but there was a big crash in the basement when he was working on the furnace, and the thermostat suddenly turned off. I waited for him to come upstairs. He came upstairs when he was apparently finished. He said he had to reset the thermostat because he had "turned it off". It really sounded more like something had fallen off and tripped the system to stop. He then stood very close to me, cornering me in the hallway, and began to tell me why he marked a few things "poor". He marked the furnace filter "poor" simply because it is a 1" filter. He said it was clean, but that I needed to watch it (like I didn't already know that; I tend to change the filter once a month during the winter). He then tried to get me to buy several additional services, and tried to scare me into cleaning the airducts because covid suggestions had cut the time down to 5 years instead of 10. Well, I have a separate air purifier that kills mold and viruses. I did not get a chance to tell him that because he continued to talk and tell me everything that I should buy. When I finally did not say I wanted any of them, he got a bit perturbed, gave me his card and said I could rate him and say I hated him for all he cared. I just continued to stay calm and said goodbye and said have a nice day. As I said, he was overall nice, but he was very insistent, and, he stood about 6 inches from my face while my back was against the wall. And yet he was all concerned that I should buy a service because of germs etc. Then I went downstairs later, and whatever had crashed ( I think that he had taken the ductwork off so that he could tell me to buy the duct-cleaning service), he had punctured a hole in a plastic gallon of water that I had near the shelving in the basement and it leaked completely out. Not sure if that happened during the crash or what. All I know is, I would prefer to not have Moe come out again for my service of any kind. I do not "vibe" with him. Please put those notes in my customer profile so that scheduling does not schedule him for my house again. Thanks, Carol"
